Are Rowton Vineyard wines suitable for vegetarians/vegans?

Yes, we use plant derived proteins to filter the wines.

What is the difference between English Wine and British Wine?

English wine is made from grapes grown in this country and British wine is made from imported
grape juice.

When did Rowton Vineyard start producing wine?

The vineyard was planted in May 2020 and our first harvest was taken in September 2022. The
first wines with grapes grown at Rowton Vineyard will be available from Summer 2023.

Why don’t you see much English wine in supermarkets?

Most English vineyards are relatively small producers and sell their wines direct to the public or
through independent wine merchants.

Can we visit the cellar door?

Yes – we run regular tasting events and evenings which anyone is welcome to attend. Follow us
on social media or sign up to our newsletter to make sure you’re in the know! We’re also open by appointment for cellar door sales, just send us an email on hello@rowtonvineyard.co.uk

Can we visit the vineyard?

Yes – we can arrange group visits/tours with you. We’re open by appointment only so just drop us an email on hello@rowtonvineyard.co.uk to arrange a date.

Where else can I buy your wines?

Our wines are available via our website or at regular markets in Shrewsbury town. They are also
available to buy in Tanners Wine Merchant (Shrewsbury, Hereford, Bridgnorth, Welshpool and
Chester).

Is there any local accommodation nearby?

Is Pinot Noir Précoce similar to any other wines?

Its flavour profile is very similar to Pinot Noir, although it tends to have slightly lower acidity and a greater emphasis on dark fruits over red along with a slightly herbaceous character.

Is Seyval Blanc similar to any other wines?

The quality and style of Seyval Blanc wine is very similar to Chenin Blanc or Chablis styles, which are lighter in style with notes of grapefruit, green apple, hay and melon.

Is Solaris similar to any other wines?

This fruit forward wine reminds many of a Sauvignon Blanc.

I live outside the UK, can you ship to me?

Unfortunately, not right now. UK addresses only.

How should I store my wine?

Sparkling wine needs to be kept lying on its side, so that the wine is in contact with the cork. It’s
best stored in a room with a consistent temperature and away from direct sunlight.

What are the grape varieties grown at Rowton?

Solaris, Pinot Noir Précoce and Seyval Blanc

Do I pay for delivery and how long does it take?

Yes, delivery is an extra charge of £10 unless you spend over £100 – then it’s free! Please allow 3-5 working days for standard shipping, and if it happens to be longer than this, or you have any questions please email us on hello@rowtonvineyard.co.uk.
